 's frameshop combines over 40 years of experience
in conservation framing for galleries and museums as well as public
and private collections. Whether at our facility or on-site with a
client, regularly uses non-adjustable and adjustable
stretcher bars to stretch canvases of all sizes.
It has been our experience that many of the adjustable stretcher-bars
available for large canvases are under-engineered. The adjustable hardware
in the mitered corners is insufficient to withstand the tension while
stretching the canvas, ultimately damaging the art when it warps and wrinkles.
For this reason,
has designed and fabricated a triple-layered stretcher-bar system adding strength to every board
length while our internal dual square steel rods strengthen the miter, ensuring easier and safer
expandability under the extreme tension of the large canvas.
